Dennis Miller - Nouveau Right Poster Boy

Hey Dennis,

Salutations and congratulations! Mazel Tov to the Montecitan Merrymaker that you are! You are so nouveau! Bright and shiny, like an Ashkenazic Mr. Clean with hair! In fact, I found myself neologistically inspired to coin the following term, which I dedicate first to you, and then to the public:

nouveau right (n?’v? r?t’) n. - A person who has shifted to a conservative political status, but has not gained social acceptance of others in that class; A pejorative term for an aspiring conservative who displays a conspicuously excessive conservative attitude.

The right wing clique is damn exclusive isn’t it, Dennis? They don’t just accept anyone into the inner circle, especially a brown-bearded comedian! So, you’re probably still feeling like an outsider, not yet fully believing that you deserve to belong to Club Right. More likely however, and according to Groucho’s logic, you’ll remain interested until you’re officially asked to join the club. The minute you’re invited into the fold, you’ll realize just how dangerously close you came to being cast as the wetnurse for Rosemary’s Baby.

But for now you’re an outsider, and until you find your golden ticket you’re going to do everything you can to break on through to the other side. You want to see what’s behind that door, even if that means playing the fool!

So what do you do? You become the uberzealot, the believer who will demonstrate belief exceeding even those who lead the movement and define the cause. Which leads me to exhibit A, Dennis. Roll the video will ya, Henny?

Ooops. Looks as thought the video has been deleted. Should have thought about making a copy of it. Will look for it and if i find it will load it for y’all!! This has me thinking about writing on “fair-use” as it relates to web content and the fact that items are deleted.

Keep it up, Dennis and I’m sure you’ll get your invitation. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how you flip and rotate (ala a triple Lindy) into something new when that happens. Maybe driving taxicabs, or professional wrestling?
