Political Signs in Sudan and Greece Barack Obama and Sara Palin

Ethnologists have recently traced Barack Obama’s tribal ancestry to Sudan. In a U.S. News opinion piece, Sam Dealey noted that:

Linguistically, ‘Barack’ is derived from ‘Baraka’ meaning ‘blessing’ in Arabic and Swahili, which is widely spoken in Eastern and Central Africa. Luo elders say ‘Obama’ does not have a solid translation in their Dholuo language but is similar to the word ‘Obam’ meaning ‘crooked’ or ‘bending.’

In a possibly related story, just last week a five to ten foot wide meteor exploded over the Sudan lighting up the night sky like two million pounds of TNT! Some might take such an event as anecdotal support for a “Blessing” interpretation. Supporters of a “Bent” interpretation point out that the trajectory of the meteor was curved due to the non-linear nature of gravity. Perhaps Barack Obama is a bit of both, a “Bent Blessing.”

“Saving the Best for Last Department” - It has been discovered that the etymology of the word-stem “palin” is from Greek, and means “backwards, again.” Backwards again? Backwards again? Backwards again?

TARP bill still has serious flaws - call your congressperson!

tarp bill lacks transparency in asset sales by the treasury. Lack of protection for home mortgages. lack of restrictions on use of the assets to finance additional foreign debt. lack of restrictions on CEOs who raked in cash by selling the mortgages, and reselling the default swap loans so that they're untraceable.
